ELIGIBLE CATEGORIES
Applications qualified to participate in this hackathon must demonstrate how Redis can be used ‘Beyond Cache’ and should fit into at least one of the following categories:
- Event-driven architectures –Your application uses Redis Streams, Pub/Sub, and/or Queues to demonstrate a smart use of real-time information provided by users, services or IoT networks. Examples might include: 1) using Streams to create reliable workflows that produce and consume data at different rates; 2) using Pub/Sub to create real-time user notifications that fire-and-forget updates to many user's browsers and/or mobile apps; or 3) using Queues to help internal systems scale by creating background jobs and processing them later
- Redis Modules-focussed - An application using RediSearch, RedisGraph, RedisJSON, RedisTimeSeries, RedisBloom (and also the new RedisAI & RedisGears modules) in a compelling way

JUDGING CRITERIA
The Judges will score all eligible submissions using the following equally weighted criteria:
- Quality of the Idea (Includes creativity and originality of the idea)
- Design (Includes the user experience and visual design of the idea)
- Technical Implementation (includes how well the idea was executed by the developer)
The Maker(s) that are eligible for a Prize, and whose Submissions earn the highest overall scores based on the applicable Judging Criteria, will become potential winners of that Prize.
HOW TO ENTER
- Sign-up to participate in the Hackathon at https://redisbeyondcache2020.devpost.com
- Install or configure Redis. We suggest Redis Enterprise Cloud (Essentials or Pro) for your Redis database, but you may use Redis open source as well.
- Get inspired. Watch Redis Data Structures, Pub/Sub & Redis Streams or read about Redis Modules.
- Watch the Keynotes at RedisConf Takeaway on May 12th, and attend a RedisConf workshops on May 13th.
- Submit your entry including a video demo

April 28th – Hackathon Opens. Sign-up, learn about Redis, Redis Modules and recruit your teammates
May 12th – Watch RedisConf Takeaway Keynotes and Breakout Sessions
May 13th – Attend RedisConf Takeaway Workshops
May 20th – Update your project page. Submit a sample demo video
May 27th – Submission Deadline - Submit your entry inclucing a video demo
May 28th – June 3rd – First Round of Voting for finalists:

- 100% voting by Hackathon Judges
People's Choice Award
- 50% voting by Public on DevPost
